Sabbir - Miraz in the opening in the World Cup for Bangladesh?

T20 World Cup is going to start from October 16. Several teams including India have already announced their squads for the World Cup. Bangladesh has not yet announced the World Cup team. However, there has been confusion about who will be in the opening in the team. The problem is compounded by the retirement of Tamim Iqbal, the country’s best opener.

Liton Das is returning to the team after injury. The question is who will be his partner in the opening. Sabbir and Miraz opened against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup. However, this pair did not do well. Sabbir scored 5 off 6 balls, Miraz scored 38 off 26 balls. Even after this, whether they will be kept in the World Cup team as an opener or not has become a big question in the country’s cricket.

In an interview, team director Khaled Mahmood said, “Miraz-Sabbir was the opener in the last match of the Asia Cup. Although Sabbir got out for 5 runs, I think there was a small pair or the intention. But we will see the other openers in the meantime.”

Meanwhile, Liton Das can bat at number 4 and Afif Hossain at number 5. Team Bangladesh is supposed to announce the team by September 15. It won’t be surprising if there are new surprises.
