Duleep Trophy 2024: Top 3 players to watch out for in Team B

Duleep Trophy 2024, which will mark the beginning of India’s domestic red-ball season, will begin on September 5. The squads for the first round of the tournament have already been announced, featuring some of the prominent stars from international cricket and budding superstars from the domestic circuit.

The opening phase of the tournament will be a preparation phase for the senior players who will be part of the Bangladesh series. In addition, some youngsters are eager to put on a show to cement their place in the Indian Test squad. That being said, let’s take a look at the top three players who are likely to perform well from the B team in the 2024 Duleep Trophy.

Here are the three players to watch out for in Team B

Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore has had an effective campaign in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL). The left-arm orthodox bowler made a big claim in a recent interview that he is one of the best spinners in the country. As he is eager to represent the country in the whites, the 27-year-old will be eyeing a successful outing in the Duleep Trophy to impress the national team selectors.

2. Sarfaraz Khan

Sarfaraz Khan made his Test debut in the home series against England earlier this year. The middle-order batsman quickly grabbed the limelight, hitting three half-centuries in his five innings. However, with the return of senior players, he is unlikely to find a place in the team unless he once again roars with impressive performances in the domestic circuit

1. Rishabh Pant

As the Bangladesh series approaches, Rishabh Pant is all set to make his much-anticipated comeback in the longer format of the game. He has not played a Test match since December 2022 following a near-fatal car accident. On his return to action, the southpaw had an impressive outing in the shorter format of the game. One of the key components of the Indian Test team, Pant will look to return on the back of a successful Duleep Trophy campaign.
