On the other hand, the experinced batter Ajinkya Rahane and Chesteshwar Pujara took control of the situation. Chesteshwar Pujara got out on 27 runs. Later, Ajinkya Rahane and Hanuma Vihari both scored half centuries before India declaring the innings.

However, West Indies managed to chase down the score but failed to do so as India bowlers were all over them. West Indies were bowled down on 210 runs as India won the second Test by 257 runs and won the series. Meanwhile, India whitewashed the series by 2-0. India defeated the Windies by 257 runs on Day 4 to win the series 2-0 and solidify their position atop the ICC World Test Championship points table during that cycle. India was able to achieve its first clean sweep in a Caribbean Test series.

Virat Kohli, became India’s most successful Test skipper with the victory, surpassing MS Dhoni’s record of 27 wins. The Jamaica Test victory was Kohli’s sixth as India’s Test captain outside Asia.
