More than three hundred arrested in Pakistan-Afghanistan match

Afghanistan was very close to defeat Pakistan in the Asia Cup Super-Four match. Had Pakistan’s last batsman Naseem Shah not hit two sixes in the last over, the equation could have changed. But the match that led to that breathtaking victory saw the birth of many incidents.

The match has spread extreme excitement on and off the field. Farid Ahmed’s celebration after picking up Asif Ali’s wicket in the crucial moment of the match in the 19th over also created controversy. The Pakistani batsman ran to beat the Afghan pacer with the bat raised. However, after the match, both of them had to pay 25 percent of the match fee and got demerit point.

After Afghanistan’s loss in a match that spilled over into off-field tensions, the team’s supporters lashed out at Pakistani supporters. Where the Pakistanis also retaliated, the battlefield became the gallery of Sharjah. As there have been fistfights, there has been no shortage of chair throwing. That video spread on the internet.

The stadium has also suffered a lot of damage due to fans fighting. Because of this, the police of the United Arab Emirates have also become angry. They started arresting those involved in the fight. The country’s police have been able to arrest 391 people so far. Of which 97 people have been taken to jail. Besides, 117 people have been shown arrested.

According to a report in Newswire, those arrested can face big punishment. They may be banned from entering the UAE for life along with visa cancellation with financial penalties.

Meanwhile, due to this incident, a virtual fight started between Pakistan and Afghanistan supporters. When Pakistan’s star pacer Shoaib Akhtar opened up about the incident, Afghanistan fans gave him a stern warning. On the other hand, Pakistan Cricket Board President Ramiz Raja has threatened to file a formal complaint with the ICC.
