Sandeep Lamichhane is one of the pillars of Nepal cricket. He also has the responsibility of captaining the country. This time there are allegations of rape against that Lamichan. The parents of a 17-year-old girl in Kathmandu, the capital of the country, have complained to the police that their daughter was raped by this cricketer.
Meanwhile, Indian media ANI reported that Nepal Police confirmed the complaint against Lamichhane in a statement. Even the country’s police have already started an investigation against the star cricketer taking into account the complaint. But nothing more is known for now.
Lamichhane is currently staying in Trinidad and Tobago to play CPL. He left Nepal on 22 August. According to the complaint, this cricketer committed the rape the night before.
It is not known what action may be taken against Lamichan for this serious charge. Nepal Cricket Board and Police officials have not officially opened up in this regard so far. On the other hand, the accused star leg-spinner has not given any statement in this regard.
However, the Nepal Cricket Board has called an emergency meeting after this incident. On the other hand, the girl who was allegedly raped by him has been taken for a health examination. Nepalese media said that strict action may be taken against this cricketer if the allegations are proved.
It should be noted that in 2018, Lamichhane wore the jersey of Nepal for the first time. Later, when Gyanendra Malla lost the leadership due to indiscipline, the responsibility fell on Lamichan’s shoulders. He started his journey as a captain in 2021. Besides, he is also playing in franchise T20 leagues outside the country.
