Predicting Sri Lanka’s Playing XI for their first ODI against India

The 3-match ODI series is set to start on August 2 between Sri Lanka and India. The neighbors are ready to lock horns for another series, but this time, India will be playing a few senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul. The series will be super fun and interesting to watch since Sri Lanka’s batting line-up is quite explosive, and if they manage to keep the momentum going, winning matches will become easy for them. After losing the T20I series, the Lankan Lions will be playing to win the upcoming ODI series.

Here’s the predicting XI of Sri Lanka ahead of the ODI series:

Batters:

Charith Asalanka

Sri Lanka has some solid batters in their team which includes Charith Asalanka, Pathum Nissanka, Avishka Fernando, and Sadeera Samarawickrama. Nissanka’s performance in the T20Is were quite impressive and the kind of starts he provided to the team were absolutely stunning. Only because of the middle-order batters did Sri Lanka not win any match. However, if they rectify their mistakes, then the situation might be different in the upcoming days.

All-Rounders:

Wanindu Hasaranga

The team will be highly dependent upon the all-rounders Wanindu Hasaranga, and Kathmandu Mendis who bat and bowl at the same time. They have played some beautiful innings in the past and that’s what they have to do in the future if they want their team to win the match.

Wicketkeeper

Kusal Mendis is not only a great keeper but a brilliant batter as well. While opening with Nissanka in the T20I, Mendis showed his batting capabilities and having a handy player like him is positive news for the Lankan Lions.

Bowlers
