Predicting West Indies’ Playing XI for their second Test match against England

England and West Indies are all set to lock horns in the second match of their ongoing Test series. While the visitors did not have the best outing in the first game, in which they lost by an innings and 114 runs, they would look forward to doing well in the next game.

The Windies’ bowling attack had a decent run in the opening game, but their batting unit was very vulnerable to challenging conditions in England. For their next match at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham, the team led by Kraigg Brathwaite would want to improve their batting.

Here is a look at West Indies’ Probable Playing XI for their clash against England

Top Order: Kraigg Brathwaite (c), Mikyle Louis, Kirk McKenzie

Irrespective of whether they bat first or second, the West Indies’ top order will have to give their team a good start. Kraigg Brathwaite, Mikyle Louis, and Kirk McKenzie looked shaky at the start of the first match. They would want to rectify this going ahead and try to build partnerships at the top of the order.

Middle Order: Alick Athanaze, Kavem Hodge, Joshua Da Silva (wk), Jason Holder

Alick Athanaze played some good cricket in the first match with scores of 23 and 22 but will have to stay in the middle for longer if he is to do well for his team. Kavem Hodge also looked decent in the first innings with a score of 24 but failed to do much in the next innings.

While Joshua Da Silva has been spectacular behind the stumps, he will have to step up his game with the bat. Jason Holder, West Indies’ most experienced player with the bat and the ball hasn’t done well recently. He would be keen to have a good game at Trent Bridge.

Bowlers: Gudakesh Motie, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Jayden Seales

The West Indies pacers had something to cheer about in the last game as they did well against the mighty English side. Jayden Seales picked up a four-wicket haul, while Alzarri Joseph picked up a solitary wicket. They would want to keep this going in the next match as well.
