Hasaranga lost four and a half million rupees!

Pinnaduwage Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva, better known as Wanindu Hasaranga, is an international cricketer who plays for the Sri Lanka cricket team in white ball cricket as a bowling All rounder.

Hasaranga lost four and a half million rupees!

Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga lost nearly four and a half crore rupees. He was scheduled to play for Manchester Originals in England’s domestic tournament, The Hundred. For this reason, the franchise also made an agreement with Hasaranga for 1 lakh pounds (about 4.5 crore rupees in Sri Lankan currency).

If everything goes well, Hasaranga was supposed to fly to England this month (August). But the Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) has blocked the path of the star legspinner. The SLC has not given a no-objection letter to Hasaranga to play in The Hundred.

That’s why Hasaranga lost the contract with Manchester Originals worth about 4.5 crore rupees. He was not allowed to play in the franchise league to play for the country in the upcoming Asia Cup and T20 World Cup, said SLC chief executive Ashley De Silva.

Silva told ESPNcricinfo that the decision was taken so that Hasaranga would be in the best condition mentally and physically during the two mega events of cricket. Meanwhile, Manchester Originals has taken South Africa’s aggresive batsman Tristan Stubbs as his replacement as not getting Hasaranga.
