Not dropped, Mushfiq-Mahmudullah at rest

Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyad are not in the Bangladesh team for the tour of Zimbabwe. Shakib Al Hasan is on leave, Tamim Iqbal retired from this format a few days ago. To say, a very young team led by wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan Sohan has gone on tour to Zimbabwe.

Absence of all the senior cricketers of the team has caused quite a surprise to the cricket lovers. However, there is not much discussion about Tamim, who has retired. Shakib’s leave is also acceptable. Mushfiq-Riyad’s absence from the team is all over the discussion. Dropped out or rest? Everyone is stuck in this question!

However, according to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Mushfiqur, Riyad and Shakib have been rested. Still the haze remains. The question also came up in the press conference before the ‘A’ team left for the West Indies tour. Meanwhile, BCB selector Abdur Razzak informed that they are at rest.

Razzak said, ”Our T20 performance is not very good. But the Zimbabwe series is relatively easy for us. We cannot drop a new cricketer against Australia. That’s why the opportunity is given here. So Shakib, Riyad, Mushfiq are being rested and trying to check the youngsters. ”
