The Bangladesh team has been suffering from injuries for some time. Taskin Ahmed was ruled out of the latest Test series against Sri Lanka due to a shoulder injury. Then, another pace sensation Shariful Islam could not play the first Test of that series. After losing the series, the team felt their lack became very burdensome.

For the same reason, neither of them has been included in the squad for the two-match Test series against the West Indies starting on June 16. However, the pair are desperate to return to the field with limited-overs cricket on the Windies tour. In the meantime, Taskin-Shariful are also fighting hard to return to the field.

Shariful’s injury is in the wrist. He is unlikely to be fit before the West Indies tour Test series. He is expected to recover and join the limited-overs team. After bowling practice in the nets on Saturday, Shariful said, ”I started bowling today. I bowled like that over with 60-70 percent intensity. ”

Coming back to the match, Shariful added, “I hope I can bowl well in a week or so, but Taskin started bowling 10 days before Shariful.” Taskin is looking forward to a full recovery after a long rehabilitation process and waiting to play in the colorful outfit on the Windies tour.

He added that he has bowled four overs today and eight overs the next day. He is following the instructions of the physio so that he can fully prepare for the white ball series. He doesn’t feel any pain now. He hopes to get back to the full rhythm before the West Indies tour.

BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu told CricBuzz about Taskin’s T20 match: ”When he returns to normal fitness, he will be playing in T20. ” For that, Taskin will go to Windies on a tourist flight on June 23.
