It has been a tough past few days for Mumbai Indians. Ahead of the Indian Premier League 2024, the franchise was bashed for replacing Rohit Sharma with Hardik Pandya as captain. As they were coping up with the barrage of criticism online, their team’s dismal performance has let them down further. Amidst all the gung-ho, the MI camp was seen spending some quality time in Jamnagar away from the game.

There’s a lot of bull crap out there as well: Ravi Shastri

The Indian all-rounder has been receiving innumerable flak, both on and off the field. The sheer reason was his appointment as MI captain. He was booed whenever he stepped onto the field. The hostile treatment was catalysed when MI played their league game at the Wankhede Stadium. Former Indian cricketer Ravi Shastri has backed Pandya in this situation. He advised him to maintain his composure and focus on results.

“There’s a lot of bull crap out there as well. You know, and some of the stories are just planted. A lot of it is just planted on other people’s names, including my name. So my advice to Hardik would be to be calm, patient, ignore, and just focus on your game. Get a couple of performances going. Mumbai Indians is a terrific side. If they get on a roll, they win three or four matches on the trot, everything will subside. At the end of the day, nothing beats results. You win matches, and things will change,” suggested the former India cricketer on Star Sports.
