IPL 2024: RCB looking forward to Punjab Kings challenge in first home game of the season

In anticipation of the forthcoming clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, RCB skipper Faf du Plessis shared his insights, suggesting that the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium would offer favorable conditions for batting.

Du Plessis expressed his eagerness, highlighting the stadium’s reputation as a “great place to bat”. He conveyed his team’s readiness for the upcoming match, emphasising on their enthusiasm to perform well after losing their first game of the season to Chennai Super Kings.

“Obviouly the first game was at the Chennai, and there was a big Chennai crowd. Looking forward to bat here again, it’s a great place to bat and I think the boys are very keens to start,” du Plessis said in a recent episode of Game Day from RCB.

Reflecting on the upcoming encounter, Australian all-rounder Cameron Green echoed du Plessis’ sentiments, praising the Bengaluru pitch as “beautiful” and ideal for batting. Green also noted the quick outfield, expressing his excitement for his first experience as an RCB player.

“It’s a beautiful batting wicket, the outfield is quick. Obvously, this will be first time experiencing as a RCB player and I am very excited. There’s always screaming and shout outs, looking forward to it,” Green said.

Meanwhile, Anuj Rawat recognized RCB’s early difficulties but assured their preparedness to confront Punjab, highlighting the team’s enhanced unity and cohesion.

“We started a bit off but definetly but after we did gel up as a team really well and we are looking forward to this game against Punjab,” Rawat said.

Adding to the anticipation, India batter Rajat Patidar urged the loyal fans to support them in the upcoming fixture. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play alongside experienced players, anticipating a valuable learning experience.

“I am eagerly to play infront of the loyal fans, so keep supporting and keep loving. It’s a privilage that you play under the most experienced players. They have played a long cricket in their country. It will be a good learning for me to play under them,” he added.
