Left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj has been a fine servant of South African cricket since his debut in 2016. He has given Proteas fans a lot of joy during his stint with the national team. Now, it’s a cheerful time in the Maharaj family as Keshav and his wife Lerisha Munsamy are expecting the birth of their first child.

Lerisha posted a video with her husband on her official Instagram account and revealed that the couple was pregnant. Besides, their family members and friends were also present in the video, celebrating the occasion and congratulating them in the video.

“Shared one of the best moments of our lives with our family and friends. Grateful to God for his blessings, and being able to share this moment with you all!” Lerisha wrote in the caption of her Instagram post.

Maharaj got married to Lerisha in April 2022. The latter is a highly skilled Kathak dancer. Like the star cricketer, Lerisha also has her roots in India. Their love story started through mutual acquaintances. After becoming good friends, they decided to tie the knot a couple of years ago.

Keshav Maharaj’s numbers for South Africa

Keshav Maharaj made his international debut in November 2016 in a Test match against Australia at the W.A.C.A. Ground in Perth. Since then, he has gone on to play 49 more Tests, 44 ODIs, and 27 T20Is. In the Test circuit, Maharaj has picked up 158 wickets at an average of 31.99. Meanwhile, in ODIs, the 33-year-old has bagged 55 wickets at 30.65. He has also done well in the shortest format of the game for the Proteas, bagging 24 wickets at a decent economy rate of 7.39.

Maharaj has also played some handy knocks with the bat in the Test arena. He has five half-centuries to his name and has a highest score of 84. The Durban-born played in the second Test against India earlier this month. However, he didn’t get to bowl as the conditions favoured the quicker bowlers.
