The inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League is heading towards its business end as Mumbai Indians and UP Warriorz are locking horns in the Eliminator at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. UP captain Alyssa Healy, who’s also celebrating her birthday, won the toss and invited Mumbai to bat first.
As UP took the field in the big game, a special guest was present at the stadium to cheer for Healy from the stands. The person was none other than her husband and Australia’s ace pacer Mitchell Starc. The speedster has been in India for over a month as he was a part of Australia’s squad for the Test and ODI series against India.
The fans were delighted to see the left-arm seamer in the stands cheering for his partner on her special day in the UPW jersey. It’s not the first time when Starc has been seen rooting for his wife as he was also seen in support of his wife in the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 at Melbourne Cricket Ground. In the big final, Healy gave a terrific start to her team with a stupendous knock of 75 off 39 balls and helped her side win the ICC event.
