The highly-anticipated contest in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will see Pakistan square off against Sri Lanka in the second match of the tournament on Thursday, October 03 at the historic Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah.

Both Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be playing their respective opening clash of the global event and would be confident to get their campaign off to a rollicking start. Speaking of the warm-up fixture played ahead of the main tournament, Pakistan lost both their fixtures against Scotland and Bangladesh, whereas, the Lankans gained confidence with two out of two wins.

Learning from warm-up matches’ mistakes, the Women in Green would be hopeful of turning things around and ticking the boxes of a comeback. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, won’t experiment too much, and the warm-up wins have given them the needed confidence for the all-important tournament.

Pitch Report:

The iconic venue of Sharjah Cricket Stadium is popular for its extremely dry nature, assisting the pacers heavily throughout. However, playing under lights will certainly offer something for the batters, ensuring an even contest between the bat and ball. To add to the batter’s delight, the smaller boundary dimensions and smooth outfield would mean that the ball would carry to the fence with enough timing off the blade.

Head-To-Head Records:

Speaking of the previous 20-over clashes between the two sides, the contest has been pretty much even-stevens, as out of the 20 matches, Pakistan won half the times, while Sri Lanka won nine, as a solitary contest could not produce a result.
