New Zealand and England are fighting it out in the first Test at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch. Before the commencement of the day’s play on November 30, the broadcasters Talksport were welcomed with a shocking news of theft of their camera equipment. The incident is reportedly to have taken place overnight after the end of Day 2.

The presenter Jon Norman and fellow commentator and former England cricketer Steve Harmison took to the social media handle of their organisation to make the news public. They provided the reason for the delay of the broadcast. They also said that the broadcast which takes place on YouTube usually, will be only in audio and no pictures.

“We’ve had a break-in. We’ve lost our cameras and we won’t be able to broadcast via the Talksport cricket YouTube channel today. There will be audio but no pictures. We’ve had nothing but hospitality the customary New Zealand way all week, but sadly this is bad news to wake up to,” said Norman.

“We’ve come here this morning, walked across the field, bounced over thinking it’d be another brilliant day of test cricket, filling the audience hopefully with excitement and joy, but unfortunately there’s nothing we can do about it. It’s out of our control that we can’t bring you pictures from this great venue,” Harmison added.

Here’s the video of commentators sharing about the incident:

Coming to the game, England ended Day 2 trailing by just 29 runs as they had put 319/5 on the board on the back of Harry Brook’s brilliant 132. They eventually were bundled out for 499 and generated a lead of 151. In return, they also picked six wickets of New Zealand and the team is leading by four runs.
