For a second season running, Lucknow Super Giants failed to make it to the final of the IPL despite qualifying for the playoffs. Following his side’s demoralizing loss against five-time champions Mumbai Indians, LSG skipper Krunal Pandya has vowed to come back stronger in next year’s edition of the tournament.

Lucknow Super Giants failed to make it to Qualifier 2 for a second consecutive season after Rohit Sharma’s side toppled the Lucknow-based franchise in a one-sided contest at Chepauk. LSG, who finished in third place in the points table, were defeated by Royal Challengers Bangalore at this very stage in last year’s tournament.

Despite his side’s exit from the competition, skipper Krunal Pandya has fond memories of the season. Krunal, who took over the reins midway through the season after regular skipper KL Rahul’s unfortunate injury, thanked the fans for their incredible support and vowed to come back stronger next season. He penned a heartfelt note for the fans, highlighting his most memorable moments from the 16th edition of the competition.

It’s been a season that will remain with me for a long time. As a team, we have had our ups and downs this season, but have always stood up and shown character at various points through the campaign. @LucknowIPL

LSG’s IPL 2023 adventure ends in heartbreak

Despite controversies surrounding their campaign, the Lucknow-based franchise managed several memorable wins in their IPL 2023 campaign, including the infamous last-ball heist against RCB at the Chinnaswamy. They sealed their spot in the playoffs after a nail-biting victory against Kolkata Knight Riders, surviving a scathing assault from Rinku Singh.
