Rishabh Pant exchanged pleasantries with a fan from afar during the Duleep Trophy 2024 clash between India A and India B at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, this week.

In the morning session on Day 2, Pant, who is plying his trade for India B, was taking a walk along the boundary ropes along with a teammate when one fan tried to grab his attention and confess his fondness for the flamboyant wicketkeeping-batter. It was great to see Pant engaging in a heartwarming interaction with a fan.

Here’s how Pant and his fan interacted:

India B won the match in the final session on Day 4 by 76 runs to bag crucial six points from the opening fixture. Rishabh Pant played an important role in the encounter as he guided the bowlers every now and then and offered useful advice to skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran, especially during the DRS calls. He took seven catches in the match, two in the first innings and five in the second.

Pant smashed a fiery fifty to claim to help India B set up a difficult total to chase

The 26-year-old didn’t have a great outing with the bat in the first innings as he was dismissed for just seven off 10 balls by Akash Deep. However, the left-handed batter played in his trademark style in the second innings to notch up a half-century off just 34 balls. His knock of 61 came off just 47 balls as he hit nine fours and two sixes. Pant was the top-scorer for India B in the second innings and it helped his team set a challenging target of 275 for India A to chase down in the fourth innings.

India B bowlers were excellent with the ball as they dismissed their A mates for 198. KL Rahul top-scored for India A with a 121-ball 57 but the other batters couldn’t get accustomed to the challenging surface and the disciplined seam bowling. Yash Dayal was the pick of the bowlers for India B as he finished with figures of 3/50 from 12 overs.

The second round of the Duleep Trophy 2024 matches gets underway on Thursday, September 12. India A locks horns with India D, while India B take on India C. Both games will be held in Anantapur.
