Ahead of India’s five-match series against England, wicketkeeper-batter and vice-captain Rishabh Pant smashed a massive six during a practice session that broke the roof of Kent County Cricket Ground.

The incident took place during India’s training session at the Kent ground, where the team is preparing alongside their earlier sessions at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground. Facing off-spinner Washington Sundar in the nets, the southpaw hammered a slog sweep which landed on the roof structure of the stand.

Rishabh PantPant is coming off an underwhelming IPL 2025 campaign with just 269 runs in 13 innings for Lucknow Super Giants. However, the youngster found his form back in the final league game, hammering an unbeaten 118 off 61 balls against RCB.

The 27-year-old has historically performed well in English conditions, scoring 556 runs in nine Tests, including two centuries. His attacking brand of cricket makes him an important member of India’s red-ball setup. Meanwhile, the Indian team are currently in a transitional phase following the retirements of stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

The Shubman Gill-led squad arrived in England recently and began their practice sessions at Lord’s before shifting some of their drills to the Kent ground, where they will face the India A squad in an intra-squad match starting June 13.

India’s squad:

Shubman Gill (C), Rishabh Pant (VC & WK), Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Karun Nair, Nitish Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Dhruv Jurel (WK), Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav
