‘This child within us is happy as ever’ – Gujarat Titans revels in MS Dhoni’s triumph despite narrow IPL 2023 final loss

While it was a fairytale ending for Chennai Super Kings and their iconic skipper MS Dhoni, spare a thought for the losing finalists, Gujarat Titans, who were inches away from lifting their second successive IPL trophy. But it wasn’t to be, thanks to Ravindra Jadeja’s heroics at the death. Following their defeat, Gujarat Titans shared an endearing post via their Twitter handle.

Hardik Pandya’s side finished at the top of the points table after a dominant league stage of the tournament. However, they were handed a demoralizing defeat by Chennai Super Kings in Qualifier 1. But the defending champions bounced back in style, defeating Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2 to book their place in the final of IPL 2023.

There was no shortage of support for CSK at the Narendra Modi Stadium, largely due to the presence of their beloved skipper MS Dhoni. It is hard to believe that a losing team will be happy for the eventual winners, but it was the case for the Titans, who revealed their joy in watching Dhoni lift his fifth IPL title.
