Sri Lanka will host Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series next month. The first two games will be played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on July 2 and July 5. Meanwhile, the final ODI will be held at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele on July 8.

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are currently playing the second Test in a two-match series. The ODIs will get underway after the completion of the Test. Sri Lanka named a 16-member squad to face Bangladesh in the ODIs. Charith Asalanka has been named as the captain of the side, while batter Sadeera Samarawickrama has made a comeback to the squad. Samarawickrama played the last ODI for Sri Lanka in November 2024 against New Zealand.

Experienced campaigners Kusal Mendis, Avishka Fernando, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Maheesh Theekshana are all set to feature in the 50-over contests. All-rounder Milan Rathnayake, who missed the second Test due to an injury, has been included in the ODI squad, though his participation will depend on a fitness assessment.

The first Test between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh took place at the Galle International Stadium. The match ended in a draw. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka are dominating the second Test in Colombo. The tourists were bowled out for 247 in the first innings before the hosts amassed 458. In the second innings, the Tigers reached 115/6 at the end of Day 3, still trailing by 96 runs.

Coming back to the ODI format, Sri Lanka whitewashed Australia in a two-match ODI series in February ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025. They will look to continue from where they left off against the Men in Yellow.
