Sourav Ganguly’s phone worth INR 1.6 lakh stolen from Kolkata residence

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly found himself at the center of a concerning incident as his phone was reported stolen from his residence in Kolkata. This occurrence has sparked discussions around security and the vulnerability of personal digital information.

The incident took place over the weekend, prompting Ganguly to file a complaint at the Thakurpukur police station. Ganguly revealed that his phone, which contained sensitive personal data and was linked to his bank account, went missing from his house after he left it at a designated spot.

Notably, ongoing painting work at Ganguly’s residence has drawn attention to the presence of workers, particularly masons. The missing phone reportedly granted access to multiple accounts and stored contact details of significant individuals, intensifying concerns regarding potential misuse.

Ganguly has appealed to the authorities to expedite efforts to recover the phone and prevent any compromise of his personal information. As the investigation continues, the focus remains on whether the stolen phone will be recovered and measures taken to prevent similar breaches in the future.

‘Batting quality dropping because of pitches’ – Sourav Ganguly poses big question against rank turners

Recently talking about the India vs England series, Ganguly questions the need for turning tracks in India, advocating for quality wickets. He emphasised the impressive performance of fast bowlers and expressed concerns about declining batting quality due to pitch conditions in the last 6-7 years. Ganguly believes India can win over five days on any surface with a strong bowling lineup.

“When I see Bumrah Sami Siraj Mukesh bowl . I wonder why do we need to prepare turning tracks in India..my conviction of playing on good wickets keeps getting stronger every game .. They will get 20 wickets on any surface with ashwin jadeja Kuldeep and axar .. batting quality dropping because of pitches in last 6 to 7 yrs at home ..good wickets are a must .. india will still win over 5 days ..@bcci,” Sourav Ganguly wrote on ‘X’.
