Star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli arrived in Kanpur on Tuesday for the upcoming second Test match against Bangladesh. The second Test is scheduled to begin on September 27, and both teams have started arriving in Kanpur.

Kohli, along with wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant and head coach Gautam Gambhir, reached the city following India’s impressive 280-run victory in the first Test at Chennai. The trio’s arrival at the team hotel sparked a frenzy among fans and staff, eager to catch a glimpse of their cricketing heroes.

As the trio reached the team hotel in Kanpur, many fans and hotel members were trying to get a glimpse of their favourite cricketer. As the 35-year-old entered the lobby, he was immediately surrounded by many people, and hotel staff members tried the opportunity to greet the cricketing icon. The Delhi-born was welcomed with a tilak ceremony, and presented with bouquets, gifts, and rudraksh.

Virat Kohli scored 23 runs in the Chennai Test

In the Chennai Test, the star batter had a forgetful outing as he registered low scores of 6 and 17, respectively. He has played just one Test match at Kanpur’s Green Park stadium, in 2021 against New Zealand, and scored 27 runs across two innings.

Kohli will be hoping to get his bat do all the talking in the upcoming match. The opening Test against Bangladesh was his first Test of the year as he missed out on the five Test-match series against England earlier this year.
