A blistering 65-run knock from Marcus Stoinis followed by ruthless 62 off just 19 from Nicholas Pooran helped Lucknow Super Giants edge over RCB by one wicket in a massive 213-run chase at M Chinnasamy Stadium on April 11.

KL Rahul won the toss and opted to field in match 15 of Indian Premier League 2023 RCB’s innings was all about the top three batters. Initially, Virat Kohli and skipper Faf du Plessis got off to a sensational start, toying with the LSG bowlers.

The duo added 96 runs for the first wicket as Kohli registered his 51st fifty-plus score. Spinner Amit Mishra drew the first blood for LSG as he took the wicket of Kohli in the 12th over. Glenn Maxwell then joined the party along with Faf du Plessis, as the duo added a quick-fire century stand, helping RCB post a massive total of 212/2 in 20 overs.

In response to 212, LSG lost their in-form player Kyle Mayers for a duck ourtesy of a brilliant bowling display from Mohammed Siraj. Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya too fell cheaply inside the powerplay as LSG were put in even more trouble at 23/3.

An incredible knock from Marcus Stoinis kept LSG’s hopes alive in the chase. Stoinis registered his fifth IPL half-century, which included six fours and five sixes. Meanwhile, Nicholas Pooran hammered 62 off just 19 with the help of four fours and seven towering maximums at a deadly strike rate of 326.32. However, both the batters were dismissed as RCB made a comeback into the game. Eventually, LSG chased down the target on the final ball of the match.
