Ahmedabad Pitch provides good balance between bat and ball

As far as the pitch is concerned, the wicket in Ahmedabad has something in it for everyone as both seamers and spinners get a good purchase out of it. Furthermore, there are a lot of runs to be had if the batters bide their time in the middle. Out of the last five matches played at the venue, three have been won by teams batting second.

The average first innings score has been 253 in the last five games while the highest target chased is 325 in the history of the venue. However, the captain winning the toss is likely to bat first as chasing will be a tough task under pressure in the big final. Furthermore, only four out of the 12 World Cup finals played so far have been won by teams successfully chasing the target.
