In a significant move ahead of the upcoming season 2 of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), the Gujarat Giants have announced the appointment of former Australia cricketer Michael Klinger as their head coach. This announcement adds a new dimension to the team’s coaching staff, aiming for a robust performance in the league.

Klinger, who retired in 2019 as the Men’s Big Bash League’s highest-ever run-scorer, brings a wealth of experience to the Gujarat Giants. Having served as an assistant coach for the Sydney Thunder in the Women’s Big Bash League, he is well-versed in the dynamics of women’s cricket. Klinger’s coaching stint with the Melbourne Renegades Men’s team from 2019 to 2021 further solidifies his credentials.

The Gujarat Giants women’s team excitedly announced the appointment of Klinger on the social media platform ‘X’.
