The final of the ongoing ODI World Cup is right around the corner. Hosts India are all set to take on Australia in the summit clash of the tournament at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, November 19. As the game approaches, all eyes will be on both sides as they battle it out for World Cup glory.

Furthermore, it is a given that the Indian team will have massive fan support behind them, which could prove to be a major factor in their quest for the title.

Speaking ahead of the game, Australia skipper Pat Cummins came forward to opine that it could be interesting for the Men in Yellow to silence the crowd in Ahmedabad and how they are looking forward to the challenge.

“It’s going to be awesome against India. The crowd will be right behind them. They have been playing great cricket, and India have certainly played very well in this World Cup. Crowds will be one-sided, and it will be satisfying to get them silent,” Pat Cummins was quoted as saying by IndiaToday.

The opening partnership between Starc and Josh Hazlewood will be important: Cummins

Furthermore, Pat Cummins also talked of the opening bowling partnership between Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood and how it could prove to be crucial for Australia against the Men in Blue. Talking back to their clash in the tournament, the powerplay performances of Hazlewood and Starc were brilliant against India, and the Aussies will look to repeat that.

“The way Starc bowled the other night was good. The opening partnership between him and Josh Hazlewood will be important,” Cummins said.

Australia will be coming into the game on the back of a brilliant win against South Africa in the second semi-final, whereas India continued their winning run and defeated New Zealand in the first knockout game. As the final approaches, it could be interesting to see which side takes home the ODI World Cup.
