The coveted Indian Premier League 2024 is 59 games old now and the top four are yet to be decided. The tournament has seen some one-sided games and some tussles that have gone down to the wire. The tradition of a team losing a chunk of games at the start and making it to the playoffs is nowhere to be seen. While many of them are still in contention, some need divine intervention to turn their nightmares into fortune.
Here’s how the fate of teams stands after the 59th game:
1. Kolkata Knight Riders
Kolkata Knight Riders are still perched atop the points table with 16 points. They have played 11 games and have won eight of them. They are virtually into the playoffs, but the only headache they will have going into their next game would be not losing the top two spots.
2. Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals situation is similar to that of KKR with 16 points. But they are separated by the superior net run rate boasted by KKR. RR have won eight games paying 11. They will be taking on the Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk and a win will solidify their top two spot further.
3. Sunrisers Hyderabad
Sunrisers Hyderabad have been game changers in the IPL 2024. They have defied all odds of batting and rely heavily on their batting arsenal. They have won 7 games having played 12. With 14 points to their name, they enter the fray intending to breach the top two spots.

4. Chennai Super Kings
Chennai Super Kings are in a precarious situation with a loss against Gujarat Titans in Match 59. The loss has dented their feasible playoff dream. They have won six games in the 12 matches they have played. With 12 points and two games to go, they are in dire need to win both games and hope Lucknow Super Giants continue their losing streak.
5. Delhi Capitals
Delhi Capitals can dare a play-off spot after CSK’s loss against GT. Their situation is similar to that of CSK but their poor NRR can hamper them if another loss hits them. They have won six games in 12 matches with 12 points to their name. They will breach the top four mark if CSK lose to RR and DC emerge victorious in both of their remaining games.
6. Lucknow Super Giants
Lucknow Super Giants are contending for the top four spot with CSK and DC. But their dismal NRR will cost them big time if DC and CSK maintain their winning. They have six victories in 12 games with 14 points. Further losses in the remaining two games will be curtains for them.

7. Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Royal Challengers Bengaluru have proved their might in real terms with four consecutive wins. Their win against the Punjab Kings kept them alive in the playoff race. But they will have to keep the fortune god happy and hope CSK, DC, and LSG falter. They have won five games in 12 games and have 10 points to their name.
8. Gujarat Titans
Gujarat Titans entered the do-or-die game against CSK in Match 59. Their commanding win has kept them in the playoff contention. They have won five games in 12 matches with 10 points at their disposal. A lot of results have to go their way in order to make it to the playoffs. To further worsen their case their NRR is not worth mentioning.
9. Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians were deemed as one of the formidable teams on paper ahead of the IPL 2024. But the team has only managed four victories in 12 games with eight points. They were the first team to get eliminated from the league, but they can change the fortunes of other teams by rattling the top tier with wins.

10. Punjab Kings
Punjab Kings had everything going right until they were marred by a series of misfortunes. Their captain sat out for most part of the league and the top order did not fire when needed the most. They were the second team to have exited the league with four wins in 12 games and eight points.
