In another thriller played by these two teams, Rajasthan Royals looked down and out at one stage in the chase but held on to their nerves and finally managed to defeat Punjab Kings by three wickets chasing a target of 148 in the 27th match of IPL 2024 held at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Cricket Stadium, International Cricket Stadium, in Mullanpur, Punjab

Asking to bat first, Punjab Kings openers failed to give a good start and after the top order collapse, the contribution from Ashutosh Sharma 31(16) who impressed everyone again for the third time and Jitesh Sharma 29(24) helped Punjab Kings to post a decent total of 147. Royals were in control right from the start led by Keshav Maharaj (4-0-23-2) and Trent Boult (4-0-22-1) who bowled magnificently ensuring that the Punjab Kings managed to post only 147.
