India women to undergo 10-day camp at NCA ahead of T20 World Cup

In anticipation of the T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates next month, the India Women’s squad will participate in a 10-day skills camp at the NCA in Bengaluru. The camp will be led by head coach Amol Muzumdar and it will begin on Tuesday, September 10.

The full squad and reserves will be present in Bengaluru on Monday. This also includes the two players Yastika Bhatia and Shreyanka Patil who had been included in the 15-member squad concerning fitness clearance from NCA.

Both Yastika Bhatia who has a knee injury and Shreyanka Patil finger fracture have cleared their fitness tests and signed the NOC to join the camp.

Following the first of the five T20I series to be held in Bangladesh in March, Bhatia sustained a grade 1 tear of PCL in her left knee and has been at the NCA ever since. Patil, on the other hand, broke her left hand during India’s 2024 Asia Cup first match against Pakistan in July.

The team will also play two of intra-squad games, both of which are anticipated to be played under lights, as part of their World Cup preparation. The 2020 World Cup runners-up, except for their Group A match against Pakistan on October 7 in Dubai, are scheduled to play three of their four games under the lights.

The players will visit their home for a short four-day break after the camp before reassembling in Mumbai to depart for UAE on September 24.

India squad: Harmanpreet Kaur (C), Smriti Mandhana (VC), Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh (wk), Yastika Bhatia (wk), Pooja Vastrakar, Arundhati Reddy, Renuka Singh Thakur, Dayalan Hemalatha, Asha Sobhana, Radha Yadav, Shreyanka Patil, Sajana Sajeevan.

Travelling Reserves: Uma Chetry (wk), Tanuja Kanwar, Saima Thakor.

Non-Travelling Reserves: Raghvi Bist, Priya Mishra.
