All-rounder Nitish Reddy sustained a side strain injury in the practice session on January 24 in Chennai at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. He is ruled out of the ongoing 5-match T20I series. Reddy will head to the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru for further management.

Rinku Singh sustained a low back spasm while fielding in the 1st T20I against England on 22nd January. He is progressing well and the BCCI medical team is monitoring him closely. He is ruled out of the 2nd and 3rd games of the ongoing 5-match T20I series.

The Senior Selection Committee has included Shivam Dube and Ramandeep Singh in the squad. Both Dube and Ramandeep will be walking into the Indian dressing room after featuring in their respective Round 6 games of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25.

While Dube played for Mumbai in the clash against Jammu & Kashmir, which the hosts lost by a shambolic margin, it was the Punjab side where Ramandeep could not help their cause to save the team from a forgettable loss against Karnataka at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Both the matches ended on Day 3, and now the focus for the all-rounder duo would be to don the national colours for the remainder of the series.
