Bangladesh pacer Khaled Ahmed missed a regulation run out of Virat Kohli on Day 4 of the second Test between India and Bangladesh in Kanpur. The star India batter was almost halfway down the crease when Ahmed collected the ball and had plenty of time to dislodge the stumps as Kohli gave up, given that he was far behind Khaled in the race.
However, interestingly, Khaled gave a shot and went on to hit the stumps and not just dislodge the bails and in the process, he missed the target from point-blank range. The entire Bangladesh team was in shock while Kohli got enough time to get back into the crease. Soon after that, Rishabh Pant, who was on the non-striker’s end, went on to hug Kohli as they could not believe Khaled’s missed opportunity.

Meanwhile, in the third innings of the game, when Bangladesh were batting, Kohli imitated the same while fielding in the slips. Pant, Shubman Gill and KL Rahul were present in the scene and they busted into laughter seeing Kohli’s imitation. Gill was also seen imitating Khaled’s missed opportunity to hit the stumps.

Kohli scored 47 runs in that innings as India took a lead of 52 runs. In the second innings, the Indian bowlers reigned supreme, restricting Bangladesh to just 146 runs. Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin picked up three wickets each, while Akash Deep picked up one.

India were asked to chase only 95 runs in the final innings and they did it with absolute ease. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill failed to get going as they scored eight and six runs respectively but the hosts never looked in trouble. Courtesy of the same goes to Yashasvi Jaiswal, who looked sensational once again.
The youngster made 51 runs off 45 balls and stitched a crucial partnership with Kohli, who remained unbeaten on 29 runs. India eventually won the match by seven wickets and sealed the series 2-0. Up next, they will play a three-match T20I series against the Bangla Tigers.
