‘Here’s to qualifying with a wonderful team’ – Mohammed Shami shares heartwarming post after GT make it to playoffs

Defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) overcame Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 34 runs in their 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday, May 15. The victory ensured GT’s place in the IPL 2023 playoffs. Meanwhile, the defeat saw SRH eliminated from the playoff contention. 

GT pacer Mohammed Shami was instrumental in the match against SRH. He scalped four crucial wickets at an economy rate of 5.25. In his four-over spell, Shami conceded just 21 runs. Apart from Shami, Mohit Sharma also claimed a four-wicket haul. 

The India pacer, on Tuesday (May 16), took to Twitter and shared some images from GT’s encounter against SRH. He shared a picture with Afghan all-rounder Rashid Khan and other team members in his post, stating that no journey is complete without true peers. Notably, Shami and Rashid hold the first and second positions on the IPL 2023 Purple Cap list, having picked up 23 wickets each from 13 matches.

GT will face RCB in the final fixture of IPL 2023

GT will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their final fixture of the IPL 2023 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on May 21. The Titans currently lead the IPL 2023 points table with 18 points from 13 games, having won nine of them. Their defeats came against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Delhi Capitals, and Mumbai Indians (MI).
