After winning the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2024-25) in Perth, ahead of the second Test in Adelaide, the Indian team visited the Parliament House. India captain, Rohit Sharma, former India captain, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja were seen interacting with the Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, at the Parliament House, in Canberra, on (Thursday) November 28.
But it was Australia’s assistant minister for foreign affairs, Tim Watts’ admiration for the star India batter, Virat Kohli that caught immense attention. Tim, who also played host to the Indian team at the parliament shared a selfie with Kohli. Just when the picture seemed just a regular post, the next slide saw Tim wearing a Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) jersey, a team for which Kohli plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
“A bit of a thrill to meet the Australian and Indian players in the PM’s XI game at Parliament House tonight. I told Virat Kohli that I support Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL because it’s the only opportunity I get to legitimately barrack for him. I give him the highest praise I can offer any international cricketer when I say that I’ve loved watching him play because he plays like an Australian. Just not when he’s playing AGAINST Australia of course,” Watts captioned on Instagram.

India will clash with Australia in the day-night Pink ball Test
Meanwhile, the Indian team will take on Australia in the second Test in Adelaide. It is worth noting that the second Test will be the Pink Ball Test and India was defeated comprehensively when they played the day and night Test last time in Australia. For the unversed, India is leading the five-match Test series by 1-0 and they need to win the series by 4-0 to make it to the World Test Championship on their own.
