Mumbai Indians (MI) took to their official social media handle to congratulate Chennai Super Kings (CSK) veteran batter Ambati Rayudu on completing 200 matches in the IPL. Notably, Rayudu attained the impressive record during CSK’s win against Delhi Capitals (DC) at Chepauk on Wednesday, May 10.
For the unversed, Rayudu made his debut in 2010 for the Mumbai franchise and played quite a few memorable innings for the five-time winners. The most decorated side in the league, Mumbai took to their Twitter handle as the franchise owner Akash Ambani congratulated the veteran on completing the milestone.
“A true champion for MI Blue and Gold. Congratulations @RayuduAmbati on your 200th IPL game. You played for MI in 114 of these matches and have given us many moments to celebrate including 3 IPL trophies,” captioned MI on their Twitter handle.
Delighted with the congratulatory message, Rayudu expressed his gratitude to the franchise and thanked for believing in him since his formative years.
“Thank you so much Akash and mi paltan..it really means a lot and have immense gratitude for giving me an opportunity and believing in me from 2010..I have such great memories with mi and I have cherished each and every trophy win that I have been a part of,” responded Rayudu.
Speaking about his season with CSK in the ongoing IPL 2023, the batter has struggled to get the runs as he has collected a meagre 118 runs in 11 appearances at a dismal average of 16.86. With the business end of the season approaching, the seasoned batter will aim to get back his rhythm and play a vital role for the yellow outfit.
Meanwhile, CSK are on the cusp of making a place in the play-offs of the top-tier league. MS Dhoni and Co. are placed second on the IPL Points Table with 15 points in 11 matches and will be raring to obtain a spot in the Qualifier 1 with wins in the remaining fixtures.
