Top 3 India performers from 5th T20I against England

India completely dominated Jos Buttler’s England in the fifth and last T20I of the five-match series. The final fixture of the series was played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday, February 2. The English skipper won the toss and asked Suryakumar Yadav’s men to bat first in the Mumbai T20I.

Batting first, the hosts posted an outstanding total of 247 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Later in the second innings, the Indian bowling attack managed to bundle out the tourists at the score of just 97 runs in 10.3 overs to help India win the game by a massive margin of 150 runs. Eventually, India registered a series win by a comprehensive margin of 4-1.

Having said that, here we’ll have a look at the top 3 Indian performers from the 5th T20I against England.

The young Southpaw also registered the second-fastest century for India in the T20 internationals following Rohit Sharma.

Later in the second innings, Abhishek also displayed his excellence with the ball; the 24-year-old scalped 2 crucial wickets with the ball, at just 3 runs in his one-over stint. Eventually, he won the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his all-round performance in the fifth T20I against England.

The veteran pacer didn’t get any wickets in the third T20I on his return to international cricket after a long gap of 13-14 months. However, he made a stunning comeback with the ball in the fifth T20I. Shami was quite expensive with the ball but still, he managed to end up as the most wicket-taker for India in the Mumbai T20I against England.

The senior pacer scalped 3 wickets at 25 runs in his bowling stint of 2.3 overs when India were defending their 247 runs in the second innings. Shami’s 3-wicket haul also included the big wicket of the England opener Ben Duckett.
