The rising cross-border heat between India and Pakistan forced the Indian cricket authorities to suspend the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) for one week. The officials are working on planning the new schedule and dates for the remainder of the tournament. The decision is also to be taken whether the remaining part of the tournament will be played in India or Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The chaos started when the 58th game of the tournament between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was called off midway in Dharamsala. However, the performances and the quality of cricket were at their peak before the tournament was suspended.

Mitchell Starc – 5/35 vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (Match 10)

Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals took on each other in the 10th game of the IPL 2025. SRH skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first, the SRH were bowled out at the score of just 163 runs in 18.4 overs, courtesy of the sensational five-wicket haul claimed by the veteran DC pacer Mitchell Starc.

He bagged 5 wickets, 35 runs in 3.4 overs, with a brilliant bowling strike rate of 4.40. He also won the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his match-winning performance, helping DC win the game by a big margin of 7 wickets.

Hardik Pandya – 5/36 vs Lucknow Super Giants (Match 16)

Lucknow Super Giants hosted Mumbai Indians in the 16th game of the tournament on April 4. The visiting skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and asked LSG to bat first. Batting first, the hosts scored 203 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

However, it was skipper Hardik Pandya himself who shone with the ball for Mumbai Indians in the first innings. He claimed a brilliant five-wicket haul, picking 5 wickets at 36 runs in his four overs, with a brilliant bowling strike rate of 4.80. Unfortunately, his efforts went in vain as MI fell 13 runs short of the target and lost the game by 12 runs.

Mohammed Siraj – 4/17 vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (Match 19)

It was the 19th game of the tournament, which featured Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans taking on each other at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Ground in Hyderabad. GT skipper Shubman Gill won the toss and asked the hosts to bat first. Batting first, Pat Cummins and Co were restricted to a total of just 152 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Star pace spearhead Mohammed Siraj shone for GT with the ball in the first innings; He claimed an outstanding four-wicket haul, picking 4 wickets at just 17 runs in his four overs, with a brilliant economy rate of just 4.25. He also won the ‘Player of the Match’ award after GT won the game by 7 wickets.
