Stuart Broad’s top 3 performances against India

English star pacer Stuart Broad has recently announced his retirement. The great bowler has over 600, 178, and 65 wickets in Test, ODI, and T20I matches, respectively. On the same note, look out for his best bowling performance against India.

1. 6/25 vs India in Manchester in 2014

Star pacer Stuart Broad single-handedly destroyed the Indian batting order at Old Trafford during the fourth Test match played from August 7 to 9, 2014, and wrapped up a remarkable victory for the England squad. Notably, on that day, Indian batters Murali Vijay, Virat Kohli, and Pujara departed for ducks. Gautam Gambhir could also manage only 4 runs, and Team India was reduced to 8/4. The MS Dhoni-led side scored 152 runs during the first innings, while England posted 367 runs after the first innings. Following that, Team India was bundled out for 161 runs during the second innings, and England won that match by an innings and 54 runs. The great seamer was named Player of the Match.

Notably, during the second Test match, which was played from July 29 to August 1, 2011, England seamer Stuart Broad had his best performance in Test cricket, not only against India but overall. In India’s first innings, the 37-year-old grabbed six wickets, including a hat-trick. Notably, on that day, India found itself in an excellent spot at 267-5 after England produced 221 in the first inning. Later, India was dismissed for 288 as Broad grabbed the last five wickets. Following that, England posted a huge target of 544 runs in the second inning. Later, while chasing, the MS Dhoni-led side could only manage 158 runs before getting all out. Broad also scored 64 and 44 runs during the first and second innings, respectively.

3. 4/33 vs India in Visakhapatnam in 2016

The star bowler’s third-best performance came during the second Test match that was played from November 17 to 21, 2016 at Visakhapatnam. Notably, on that day, the Virat Kohli-led Indian side posted 455 and 204 runs, respectively, in both innings. Later, while chasing, the visitors could only rack up 255 and 158 runs during the first and second innings, respectively, and handed the home Team a great win by 246 runs. The English cricketer had scalped 1 and 4 wickets in the first and second innings, respectively.
