IPL 2025 Predicting RR's Playing XI for their clash against PBKS

Team Rajasthan Royals are all set to take on the Punjab Kings in Match 59 of the Indian Premier League 2025. The Sawai Man Singh Stadium is all set to be the hosts for this game on Sunday. However, Rajasthan Royals have already been eliminated from the tournament, but they will aim to win this game and add one more success to have a gracious exit.

Notably, the inaugural champions of the tournament are struggling in the ninth spot on the tournament standings, with only three wins and nine defeats in their 12 games so far. A win in this game will help them move up a spot in the tournament’s points table, surpassing the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

With that said, here we’ll have a look at the predicted playing XI of the Rajasthan Royals for their upcoming clash against the Punjab Kings.

Openers

Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal

The management of the Royals might want to move with the opening pair of the young batters, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Both batters have been in a brilliant run of form in the tournament so far. In the last game against KKR, Jaiswal scored 34 runs off 21 balls, with five fours and a six.

On the other hand, Vaibhav Suryavanahsi also smashed one of the fastest half-centuries in the history of the Indian Premier League just a few weeks back. The duo is capable of providing a blistering start to help RR post a big total on the board.

Middle-Order

Sanju Samson

The middle-order of the Royals will start with the skipper, Sanju Samson, at number three. He will be making a comeback after a long absence from the playing XI due to injury. Samson will be followed by young batting all-rounder Riyan Parag at number four. He smashed 95 runs off just 45 balls, with six fours and eight sixes.

Wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel and the star Caribbean batter Shimron Hetmyer will be there to bat at numbers four and five. Hetmyer scored 29 runs off 23 balls, with one four and a six. In the lower middle-order at number seven, Shubham Dubey would be a good option for RR to go ahead with.

All-Rounder

Wanindu Hasaranga

Star Sri Lanka all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga is expected to be picked as a specialist all-rounder in the playing XI of the Rajasthan Royals for their next game against PBKS.

Besides that, Hasaranga could also play a vital role with the ball, bowling all four overs of his spell, be it in the first innings or while defending the target. So, he would be a perfect choice to pick as an all-rounder.

Bowlers

Jofra Archer Yudhvir Singh and Akash Madhwal

The core bowling attack of the Royals will include the three out-and-out pacers, Jofra Archer, Yudhvir Singh, and Akash Madhwal. Archer and Singh scalped a wicket each in the last game against KKR. They could play a crucial role in the powerplay phase of the innings against PBKS.

Besides that, Akash Madhwal might also contribute with some crucial overs in the death phase of the innings. The pace trio will be accompanied by the spin-allrounder Wanindu Hasaranga, alongside an extra spin support from Riyan Parag.
