IPL 2024: Predicting SRH’s playing for the final clash against KKR

Sunrisers Hyderabad have finally realized the dream and are one step away from getting their hands on the Indian Premier League title for the second time. Their last title win was in 2016, under the leadership of David Warner. The last few years have been difficult for the men in orange as they have failed to do well and finished in the bottom half of the table.

Pat Cummins, in just a few years of his captaincy experience, is at the top of the world. The Australian has a chance to add a third huge title in a space of 11 months. Hyderabad’s decision to promote Pat Cummins as the skipper has been a huge masterstroke and it has been vindicated with their run to the finals.

After losing the first qualifier game against Kolkata Knight Riders, SRH picked their game up against Rajasthan Royals. Heinrich Klaasen played a match-winning knock with the bat, while the duo of Abhishek Sharma and Shahbaz Ahmed combined well with the ball to ensure SRH reached the finals with a 36-run win.

Here is the SRH XI vs KKR for IPL 2024 finals

Top order – Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Rahul Tripathi

Travis Head has suffered indifferent form in the final stages of the IPL 2024 season. The left-handed batter scored 2 ducks in two matches before scoring 34 in the 2nd qualifiers against the Royals. His opening partner Abhishek Sharma has been impressive with the bat, but on Friday, he turned the game around with his bowling. The youngster has been impressive this year prompting calls for his inclusion in the Indian team. Forgotten Indian batter Rahul Tripathi has been giving the selectors good reminders about his form. His 15-ball 37 against RR showed why he is rated highly by many in the domestic circuit.

Middle-order – Aiden Markram and Nitish Reddy

Former SRH skipper Aiden Markram has been having a dreadful time in the IPL in the last few matches. In the game against the Royals, he was out for a duck after missing the last few matches. With the class he has, Markram can come good anytime, and if anything, the South African is a big match player and could play a key role in the finals. Young Nitish Reddy has seen his reputation grow with each game and his importance to the SRH side has been undeniable. The young man will look to show what he is made of in the biggest game of his life against a side as dangerous as KKR in Chennai.

Lower middle-order –Heinrich Klaasen and Abdul Samad

South African star Heinrich Klaasen was the reason why SRH could win the 2nd qualifier game. The right-handed batter scored a well-compiled fifty which helped SRH score a decent total and win the game. With his big-hitting talents, Klaasen could be a handful for the KKR spinners at Chepauk on Sunday. Young Abdul Samad, without a doubt, has immense talents but his form in the recent games has been a cause of worry. His duck against RR will bother him, but once he gets going, there is no better hitter of the ball than Abdul Samad.

Bowlers – Pat Cummins, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jaydev Unadkat, and T Natarajan

SRH skipper Pat Cummins is very well aware that he is one game away from becoming one of the best captains in the world. The Australian has been a constant source of inspiration with the ball and one better spell can land SRH in the IPL 2024 title. That dream can come true if Bhuvneshwar Kumar can get early wickets with the new ball. The veteran pacer has been at his best in the powerplay overs and putting pressure on the opposition. Left-arm seam duo Jaydev Unadkat and Natarajan will use their variations with the latter playing an IPL final in front of his home fans. if these four bowlers can fire, SRH will be holding the IPL title for a second time to make it a campaign to remember.
