Andrew Symonds’s Top 3 Test performances 

Australia’s star cricketer Andrew Symonds has been known as one of the most destructive all-rounders in the history of cricket and has taken his side to the epitome of the level with his huge success. The star cricketer made his Test debut during Australia’s tour of Sri Lanka, as the selectors were citing his bowling and his power hitting against the spinners as ideal in subcontinental conditions.

Symonds has played 26 Test matches in his career while going on to amass 1462 runs, featuring two centuries and 10 fifties. In the same vein, here are his top three Test performances, given below.

The star cricketer’s best knock came against India during the second Test match, which took place from January 2 to January 6 in 2008. The star all-rounder hammered unbeaten 162 runs from 226 balls in the first inning, featuring 18 fours and two sixes to help his side win the game. Speaking about the game here, Australia posted 463 and 401 runs in the first and second innings, respectively. However, during the chase, India was magnificent in the first inning as they made 532 runs; however, Anil Kumble led the side and failed with a bat in the second inning, which made them lose the game.

Symonds second-best Test knock came during the fourth Test match against Australia, which took place from December 26 to 28, 2008, at the iconic MCG. The English side was able to just pile up 159 and 161 runs in the first and second innings, respectively. However, the Aussies made 419 runs in the first inning after a wonderful display from the middle-order batter, who made 156 runs from 220 balls, featuring 15 fours and one six, to help the Aussies win the Test match by an innings and 99 runs.

The star cricketer’s third-best knock came during the first Test against the West Indies, which took place from May 22 to 26 in Kingston. Speaking about the game here, the visiting side posted 431 and 167 runs in the first and second innings, respectively. Symonds played a great role in the second inning as he hammered 79 runs from 118 balls, featuring nine fours and three sixes, which helped them win the game.
