3 reasons why India can dominate Asia Cup 2023 Final against Sri Lanka

India and Sri Lanka are set to play in the Asia Cup 2023 final on Sunday at the R. Premadasa stadium in Colombo. India have not lost a game in this tournament and would be looking to continue their winning streak again in the final.

The two sides faced off against each other this past week and would be playing again this Sunday. The game between the sides was pretty close but India did end up on the winning end. There are many reasons why India starts as favourites to win the Asia Cup 2023 on Sunday. Let’s take a look at 3 reasons why India can dominate the Asia Cup 2023 Final against Sri Lanka.

1) Well rested bowlers

India have given rest to all four of their premium bowlers for their game against Bangladesh on Friday. Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Hardik Pandya were all on the bench to have a day-off ahead of the Asia Cup 2023 final.

The workload of the bowlers has been a lot over the past few weeks but this break gives them a chance to be fresh for the final on Sunday. A fresh attack would mean top quality bowling from the Indian team which might sound like a bad sign for the Sri Lankan batters

2) In-form Batters

The Indian batters have finally picked up their form after there was cause of concern that they were not firing. The top order especially had not performed well leading up to the final. Both the openers as well as Virat Kohli.

The top and middle order look set and would be willing to chase down a total as well as set a massive total for the Sri Lankan team. If any of their batters gets set, then it would mean caution for the Sri Lankan bowlers because the Indian team knows how to accelerate at the right time.

3) Ability to win under pressure

The Indian team has been under a lot of pressure situations and if the two sides’ last games’ can be taken in reference, the Indian team came on top because of this ability to win the crucial moments of the match at the right time.

India knows how to win the big tournaments and certainly has an ability to do so. They will be under the pressure from their fans and this is what they need ahead off a big couple of months for their side.
