The third match of the Maharashtra Premier League (MPL 2025) will see Ratnagiri Jets (RJ) take on Puneri Bappa (PB) at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

Ratnagiri Jets enter this contest on the back of a loss to Eagle Nashik Titans (ENT) in the season opener. Despite putting up a competitive total of 194 in the first innings, they could not defend it, as Eagle Nashik Titans comfortably chased down the target with 10 balls to spare. Dhiraj Phatangare was the standout performer for Ratnagiri, scoring an unbeaten 81 off just 47 balls.

Puneri Bappa, on the other hand, will be playing their first match of MPL 2025. They will be eager to make a strong start to the new season after a disappointing campaign in MPL 2024, where they finished at the bottom of the table with just three wins from ten matches.

Pitch Report

The third match of the season will take place at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. The pitch was a flat surface offering little assistance to bowlers during the season opener. It provided minimal swing or turn, and a smooth run-chase occurred in the second innings. The stage is set for another high-scoring thriller in the third match of MPL 2025. Both sides will look to capitalise on the batting-friendly conditions and set the tone for their campaigns.

Head-to-Head record

Ratnagiri Jets have had the upper hand in this rivalry, having won both their previous MPL encounters against Puneri Bappa.
