What is the achievement of Bangladesh from BPL in the last five seasons?

Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is losing day by day. Although it created a stir in the beginning, it is losing it day by day. This league, which took place after IPL, is now unable to come into the discussion with PSL, Big Bash. No good-quality cricketer has come out of BPL in the last few seasons. The question is what is the achievement of Bangladesh in the last five seasons of BPL?

Shakib Al Hasan, the poster boy of Bangladesh cricket, raised questions about the achievement of BPL. In an interview, he said, “Dhaka is much ahead of the Premier League and BPL”. Although BPL is thought to be a platform for bringing out new talent, it can be said that the record of achievements here is zero. The T20 record of the national team of Bangladesh is not good. In that case, BPL could have been a factory for making players. But apart from a handful of two players from the BPL, no one else got a chance in the national team.

Even though Sheikh Mehdi was found in BPL, he could not do anything. The fate seems to be that quality cricketers are not available from here. On the other hand, standout performers have come out of IPL, and PSL. Discovery of IPL Surya Kumar Yadav is one of the best cricketers in India today. One of India’s premier bowling weapons, Jasprit Bumrah, is also the discovery of this IPL.

On the other hand, the discovery of PSL is cricketers like Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf, Iftekhar Ahmed, and Khushdil Shah. Those who are shaking the jersey of the national team. Moreover, cricketers like Rovman Powell, Kyle Myers, and Brendan King have come out of West Indies’ CPL. There is zero income from BPL. Let’s look back at the achievements of BPL in the last five years:

2016 : The top five were Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah Riyad, Sabbir Rahman, Mohammad Shehzad and Mushfiqur Rahim. Shafiul was the only Bangladeshi in the top five in bowling.

2017: Tamim Iqbal was ranked third among the top five batsmen. Mohammad Mithun was in fourth place. Bowling Shakib Al Hasan, Abu Zayed and Mohammad Saifuddin.

2018: Tamim Iqbal was one step ahead of the last edition of the top five batsmen. Mushfiq was in the fourth position. Bowling all-rounders Shakib Al Hasan, Mashrafe, Rubel Hossain and Saifuddin.

2019: Mushfiqur Rahim in the second position in the top five batting. Liton Das is third. Mostafizur Rahman is the top cutter master in bowling. Rubles at number three and dresses at number five.

2022: In 2022, there is no new face. Tamim Iqbal is among the top five batsmen. Mostafizur Rahman tops in bowling. Shakib Al Hasan is in the third position.

According to cricket analysts, one of the problems in BPL is wickets. The cricketers are not able to match themselves despite getting a chance on this low-quality wicket. And the curators also said that Mirpur Stadium is used too much so that good wickets are not made here. Moreover, the franchise owners are not given the opportunity to make a return on investment and to be permanent. So it is not possible to make a long plan with the team. Due to which new franchises come every year with new names, this is the shaky state of the tournament.
