India Women (IND-W) took on West Indies Women (WI-W) in the third ODI held at the Kotambi Stadium, in Vadodara, on December 27. West Indies Women won the toss and opted to bat first. Renuka Singh and Deepti Sharma held a tight grip on the game by sending West Indies top order into a frenzy. Their openers, Qiana Joseph and Hayley Matthews were dismissed for ducks.
The visitors further collapsed after all-rounder Deandra Dotting was back in the hut scoring five off 12 balls. The scorecards read 9/3, as Shemaine Campbelle and Chinelle Henry started rebuilding the innings together. Both the batters added a 91-run stand for the fourth wicket before Campbelle departed scoring 46 off 62 balls. They lost quick wickets again and with Henry walking back scoring 61 off 72 deliveries. This left the visitors reeling at 141/6, at one stage.
The only notable contribution down the order came at the end of Aaliyah Alleyne as she scored 21 off 35 balls. Eventually, West Indies’ innings got wrapped up on 162 runs inside 39 overs. For India, all rounder Deepti Sharma dazzled with a 6-fer while pacer Renuka Singh claimed four wickets.
