Top three T20I bowlers in the world right now

Cricket is a game of batters and bowlers, but when it comes to Twenty20 cricket, the sport is unofficially recognized as a batters’ game. This is because the game’s shortest format will not favour the bowler, as the opponents will look to hit every ball out of the park. However, over the years, we have seen many bowlers dominate the 20-over game with their cracking deliveries and dot balls.

The best recent example of the above statement is England’s Sam Curran winning the Cricket Governing Body’s Player of the Tournament award in the 2022 20-20 World Cup. The 24-year-old left-arm pacer, who has been in excellent form throughout the tournament, played a significant role in England’s World Cup triumph. As a result, the all-rounder is ranked fifth in the Cricket Governing Body’s men’s T20I bowling rankings.

Let’s see who are the current top three bowlers in the T20 rankings:

3. Adil Rashid

On several occasions, the right-arm leg-break bowler has been vital in England’s T20I victories. Adil is England’s highest wicket-taker among spinners in both 50-over and 20-over formats and is the second-highest wicket-taker in T20Is behind Chris Jordan. He has taken 93 wickets in 92 T20I matches at an average of 25.6.

2. Rashid Khan

It is no surprise to see Rashid’s name at the top of the list as the Afghanistan star bowler has ruled the bowling department in the shortest format of the game since his debut. His exceptional leg spin has been a terror factor for opposite batters in all the leagues he has played in. He has many variations in his bowling arsenal, making him one of the best T20 bowlers ever. Rashid is brilliant with his googly and can put the batter under pressure at any stage of the match. The 24-year-old has taken 126 wickets at an average of 14.44 from 77 T20I games.

1. Wanindu Hasaranga
