1. Sunil Gavaskar and Gundappa Vishwanath

Not many fans might know this but both cricketers are in fact related to each other. Gavaskar is the brother-in-law of Vishvanath as the latter married Sunil’s sister, Kavita. Talking about Gavaskar, he is the first Indian to score 10000 runs in Test cricket.

On the other hand, Gundappa played 91 Tests and amassed 6080 runs at an average of 41.93 including 14 hundred. Notably, both players failed to translate their Test success into ODI cricket. Combining both players, they have only hit one hundred in the format.

2. The Benaud Brothers

Cricket fans who were born in the 90s might remember Richie Benaud’s commentary. There was a time when he used to be one of the leading broadcasters. Also, not forget, one of the leading cricket games for PCs used his voice for commentary.

Meanwhile, the late Australia cricketer and his brother John played for their national side. After finishing their playing career, John didn’t keep himself in touch with the game. On the other hand, Gavaskar once praised Richie for how he taught him the nitty-gritty of broadcasting.

3. Curran family playing for different countries

For those who don’t know, Sam and Tom Curra’s late father, Kevin played for Zimbabwe, He played in the famous game of the 1983 World Cup against India. In this game, the then-India skipper Kapil Dev scored 175 not out to take the team to a fighting total after being reduced to 17/5.

Meanwhile, the deceased cricketer’s sons, Sam and Tom have played for England and are also playing in various T20 Leagues around the globe.
