Seven teams of BPL confirmed

The governing council of the tournament has finalized the teams for the next three seasons of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). However, Shakib Al Hasan’s company Monarch Mart Limited did not get the team. Since submitting his name to the tender, cricket lovers have been interested, Shakib will play in his own team called ‘Monarch Padma’ from the upcoming BPL. But in the end, Shakib’s organization did not get the franchise.

If everything goes according to the scheduled schedule, the upcoming BPL will be played in January-February. About four months before that, the BPL Governing Council announced the names of the teams participating in the tournament. Where among the nine organizations interested in taking part in the tender, two organizations have been left out.

This was confirmed in a message sent by the tournament authorities. While there is news that Shakib’s organization will not get a team, the two previous important teams in the upcoming BPL, Dhaka’s franchise Beximco Group and Khulna’s Gemcon Group will not be there. Basically, due to disagreeing with the tournament committee, they withdrew from the BPL of their own accord.

As announced by the Bangladesh Cricket Board, the ninth season of BPL 2023 will start on January 5 and end on February 16. There were various controversies in the last BPL season. But this time BCB is determined to make BPL controversy-free.
