At the end of the third day, it was confirmed that Pakistan was going to face a defeat in the Karachi Test as well. The fans just had to see how long it took for England to win. On the fourth day, England won after spending only 38 minutes and playing 67 balls. Pakistan had to bear the shame of getting whitewashed for the first time on their soil.

England needed 55 runs to win on the fourth day of the Karachi Test on Tuesday (December 20). On the other hand, Pakistan needed 8 wickets. However, Ben Duckett and Ben Stokes brought victory to England spending only 67 balls. Babar Azam’s team had to get whitewashed on their own ground with this loss of 8 wickets. Pakistan has now faced defeat in four consecutive Tests with this on their soil.

Among Asian countries, only Bangladesh has such a record. Pakistan also lost against Australia before losing three consecutive Tests against England.

After winning the toss and batting first, hosts Pakistan were bowled out for 304 in their first innings. Babar Azam scored 78, Agha Salman got 56, and Azhar Ali made 45 runs. Jack Leach took the maximum number of 4 wickets for England. Apart from this, the anointed Rehan Ahmed took 2 wickets, and Mark Wood, Ollie Robinson, and Joe Root took 1 wicket each.

In reply, visiting England was bowled out for 354 in their first innings. Harry Brook brought up his third career century. He scored 111 runs off 150 balls with 8 fours and 3 sixes. England got a lead of 50 runs with this great century by Brook. Besides, Ben Foakes scored 64 and Ollie Pope scored 51 runs.

Nauman Ali and Abrar Ahmed took 4 wickets each for the hosts. Besides, Mohammad Wasim Jr picked up 1 wicket.

Despite making a good start in the second innings, Jack Leach and Debutant Rehan Ahmed bowled Pakistan’s innings for just 216 runs. Pakistan captain Babar Azam scored 54 runs and Saud Shakeel scored 53 runs. Besides, Abdullah Shafique scored 26 and Shan Masood returned to the dressing room with 24 runs.

Leg spinner Rehan Ahmed set a record playing in the first Test of his career. He made history as the youngest cricketer to take 5 wickets on his debut. He also snapped up 2 wickets in the first innings. Besides, Jack Leach took 3 wickets, and Mark Wood and Joe Root took 1 wicket each. England was set a target of 167 for victory in the fourth innings as Pakistan was bowled out for fewer runs.

England’s two openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett started to bat in ODI style to achieve this small goal. However, Crawley who scored 41 runs became the victim of Abrar Ahmed in the team’s 87 runs. Rehan Ahmed, who came down as the night watchman in the last minute, scored 10 runs. Abrar Ahmed took his wicket as well. England ended the third day with 112 runs for 2 wickets.

England picked up the required runs at a blistering pace in the first session on the fourth day without losing any wickets. Duckett remained unbeaten on 82 runs. And English captain Ben Stokes stood not out scoring 35 runs.

Harry Brook was adjudged player of the match for his brilliant century in the first innings. Besides, he was also selected as the player of the series as he scored 468 runs in 5 innings of three Tests with 3 centuries and 1 half-century.
