London Spirit has registered a massive 52-run win over Manchester Originals in the 6th match of The Hundred 2022 at Lord’s in London on Monday. Bowling all-rounder Jordan Thompson played a key role in this victory for London. He has adjudged the player of the match for taking 4 wickets conceding 21 runs.

London Spirit captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to bat first sending Manchester Originals to bowl. London Spirit collected a big score of 160 runs after losing 6 wickets from the scheduled 100 balls.

London Spirit lost their first wicket early after coming down to bat. Opener Adam Rossington (0) got lbw by Sean Abbott for 9 runs before opening the scoring book. Opener Zak Crawley and Glenn Maxwell put on a 43-run partnership for the 2nd wicket.

When Maxwell was dismissed for 21 runs off 15 balls, captain Eoin Morgan came to the wicket. Zak Crawley added 44 runs to the scoreboard with him for the 3rd wicket partnership. Zak Crawley returned to the pavilion with a top score for the team of  41 playing 34 balls, with 3 fours and 2 sixes.

Shortly thereafter, Morgan returned to the dressing room after being the victim of Paul Walter. With 3 sixes and 1 four, he scored 37 runs off 26 balls. Kieron Pollard continued to play a devastating innings at one end even though wickets were falling at one end. On the other hand, neither Jordan Thompson (2) nor Ravi Bopara (9) could settle on the wicket.

But at the other end of the wicket, Pollard continued his brilliance. He played a whirlwind innings of 34 runs facing just 11 balls with 1 four and 4 sixes, he was unbeaten as well after playing this innings. Where the strike rate was 309.09. Liam Dawson remained unbeaten on 3 runs. Paul Walter took the maximum number of 2 wickets for Manchester Originals. Besides, Matthew Parkinson, Fred Klaassen, Sean Abbott, and Tom Hartley took 1 wicket each.

Chasing a challenging target of 161 runs, Manchester Originals were bowled out for 108 runs with two balls left in the innings by London Spirit bowlers. Jordan Thompson single-handedly demolished Manchester Originals’ batting line-up. Manchester Originals couldn’t reach the port of victory thanks to his brilliant spell.

For the team, the wicket-keeper batsman Philip Salt played the highest innings of 36 runs off 34 balls. Besides, Tom Hartley scored 17 and Sean Abbott made 10 runs. No other batsman for the team could not make a double-digit score. As a result, the innings of Manchester Originals stopped at 108 runs from 98 balls.
